Could a No deal Brexit boost physical retail on the Island of Ireland

With the looming potential of a NO deal brexit there will be winners and losers.

On scenario is that it could lead to a boost for physical retail in the short term in Northern Ireland and maybe even in ROI.

As more and more people choose as part of there shopping to do this online this could be set to get more and more expensive.

The new virtual border, for those in ROI that buy goods online in the UK, will make costs potentially rise. Consumers in ROI could be faced with further charges on vat, duty and delays on delivery times, before items are released to them, which will make items more expensive and maybe less convenient.

With prices potentially rising this could lead to ROI consumers jumping in there car's and heading North, for certain items and potential savings.

Time will tell, however, as a border person from Newry, it could be a good 12 months at least for the border towns in Northern Ireland.
